The member of BNP’s standing committee alleged that the results of the 12th National Parliament elections to be held on January 7 are being decided in Dhaka. Abdul Moin Khan. Moin Khan made this complaint while talking to reporters after paying tribute at the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur of the capital on Thursday morning.

A member of the BNP Standing Committee claimed, ‘The results of the 7th election are being decided in Dhaka. It’s not an election, it’s a distribution on the monkey’s back.’

At this time, Moin Khan urged the present government not to be afraid to come for a fair and impartial election.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule of the 12th National Assembly elections on November 15. According to the schedule, the vote will be held on January 7. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is 17th December, and allotment of symbols will be on 18th December. Election campaign will start from December 18. It will continue until 8 am on January 5.

A total of 29 political parties including the ruling Awami League, Jatiya Party are participating in this election. However, BNP and other like-minded parties are not participating in the election.

On October 28, BNP called a mass meeting in Nayapaltan of the capital to demand the fall of the government. Before the start of the rally, the leaders and workers of the party clashed with the police. A policeman was killed. About a hundred were injured. The Chief Justice’s residence in Kakrail and the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh were also attacked during the clashes.

Besides, several media workers who went to collect news of the rally admitted to the attack. Some media cars and motorcycles were vandalized. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) arrested BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir from his home in Gulshan the day after this incident. Apart from Mirza Fakhrul, some other central leaders of BNP were arrested after this incident.
