International conference on marine research begins in Cox’s Bazar

International conference on marine research has started in Cox’s Bazar. The theme of this two-day conference is ‘Innovation for Better Future’. This conference started on Saturday morning at the office of Bangladesh Ocean Research Institute located at Patcher Dwip in Himachari.

Researchers from the country and abroad related to blue economy and oceanography, teachers and students of the university are participating in this conference. Physical and Space Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Geological Oceanography, Environmental Oceanography and Climate Change Gas Blue Economy – Research on these six topics were discussed in the conference. The main objective of this conference is to bring together the oceanographers and researchers of the country and abroad to know the current, future plans and challenges of ocean research through their experience and research results.

Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Ali Hossain was present as the chief guest in the conference.

Director General of Bangladesh Ocean Research Institute Professor Dr. Touhida Rasheed. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary (Maritime Affairs Unit) Rear Admiral (Retd.) Khorshed Alam, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University of Bangladesh Vice Chancellor Rear Admiral Md. Musa, Rangamati Science and Technology University Vice-Chancellor Kanchan Chakma and Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Benu Kumar Dey. On the occasion of this two-day international conference, 18 stalls of various organizations working on marine science were held.

This conference will end tomorrow Sunday.
