Bangladesh Television (BTV) will broadcast a special drama ‘Ek Kaap Chidda Cha’ on Martyrs Intellectual Day. Written by Mamunur Rashid and produced by El Ruma Akhtar. Tomorrow, December 14, the drama will be seen on BTV screens at 9:05 PM.
In the drama, Mofswal is a popular doctor in the city who does not have a high degree. His life was spent with his wife, daughter and a compounder. Although he works in the government, he travels around the village treating patients. During the liberation war in 1971, he treated and cured many injured people. Even though the Pakistani army got to know about his activities, he was confident that the Pakistani army would not kill him because he was a doctor. Cruel irony of fate On December 14, when the country was on the verge of victory, the Pak Army and their henchmen captured him. He never came back after that.
Mamunur Rashid, Dolly Zahoor, Sharmin Joha Shashi, Saharan, Shubashish Bhowmik, Saeed Sumon, Arif Hossain, Sujat Shimul and Apple Ahmed acted in various roles in the play.
In addition, on intellectuals day, programs on commemoration of martyred intellectuals’ family members, documentary programs, discussions on ‘Killing of intellectuals and Dhaka University’ will be aired.
