Inspections will continue, hospitals will be closed if irregularities are found: Health Minister

Health Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said that visits to public and private clinics and hospitals will continue throughout the year. If any error is found it will be closed. However, the government is not in favor of closing all hospitals.

The Minister said these things to the reporters while attending a program of health care provision, health awareness and medical camp among small ethnic groups and farmers in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon on Sunday afternoon.

At that time, the health minister said, ‘I am an ordinary person, I never thought that I would become a minister. But a phone call increased my responsibility. You changed my fate. While coming to this event, I visited some health complexes. They also have some inconsistencies. Will be resolved quickly.’

Under the chairmanship of Freedom Fighters Generation President Kazi Shafiqul Islam Halim, State Minister for Planning Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, State Minister for Health Rokeya Sultana, Secretary General of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Ihteshamul Haque Chowdhury Dulal, Director General of Health Department Professor Dr. Abul Bashar along with Health Department officials, local administration officials and tribal leaders spoke.

Later, the minister enjoyed traditional cultural performances by the small ethnic groups and farmers and participated in a health rally.
