17 more members of the Border Guard Police (BGP), the country’s border guard force, have infiltrated into Bangladesh amid clashes between the army and insurgents in Myanmar. A total of 51 border guards from the country have taken refuge in Bangladesh due to the attack of the Arakan Army.

This information was confirmed on Sunday from the Public Relations Office of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

It is reported that the BGP members who escaped have taken shelter in the BGB camp of Tumbru area of ​​Ghumdhum border of Naikshyongchari in Bandarban.

On Sunday morning, they crossed the zero line and took shelter in Tumbru camp.

Jahangir Aziz, Chairman of Ghumdhum Union, told Independent Television that there has been massive shelling inside the Myanmar border since Sunday morning. Sometimes, the Ghumdhum-Tumbru border area is shaking with loud noise.

The chairman also said that residents of the area have been asked not to leave their homes unless necessary.
