Hemant Saren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand state of India, is not available. Hemant left Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi for Delhi on a chartered flight on Sunday night. Since then he is not available on the phone. Meanwhile, the central investigation agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Hemant in the financial fraud case. He is scheduled to appear at the ED office tomorrow at 1 pm on Wednesday.
According to the report of the Indian media NDTV, Hemant Saren has been accused of financial corruption in the land scam case. ED officials conducted a 13-hour search operation at Hemantar’s house in Delhi since Monday morning. ED has seized some important documents, cash worth Rs 36 lakh and a BMW car in the raid.
ED has summoned Hemant Soren 9 times in the financial corruption case. Each time he avoided. ED summoned him again on Saturday. Hemant was asked to appear at the ED office in Delhi between January 27 and 31. A raid was conducted at his house without getting any response.
But till now there is no trace of Hemant. There is no information about his whereabouts. According to the latest information, Hemant came to Delhi from Ranchi in a chartered flight. The chartered plane is in Delhi airport. Hemant is not available on phone. All his associates have switched off their phones.
Meanwhile, Hemant’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders and legislators have been banned from leaving Ranchi. Hemant is expected to be arrested anytime.
In such a situation political tension has started in Jharkhand. For now, section 144 has been imposed outside Hemant’s official residence, office and ED office in Ranchi. Hemant’s party MLAs were there till Monday late night. His party and supporters claim that Hemant is being deliberately targeted ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
