India, China and Russia did not put A.League in power: Quader

General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader said that India, China and Russia did not put Awami League in power. They are only friendly countries. Awami League came to power by people’s vote.

He made this comment at the Dhaka South Metropolitan Awami League’s peace and democracy rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

In the gathering, the minister complained and said that China, India, Russia are only friendly countries. They have no role in the formation of Awami League government. BNP intimidates the government by calling foreigners. They want to impose visa sanctions, restrictions on foreigners.

Awami League General Secretary claimed that 28 parties participated in the 12th parliamentary elections. With more than 40 percent voter turnout, the election was participatory. Awami League was elected by people’s vote.

Obaidul Quader said that after the election, BNP has again entered the field, but the people will not respond to their movement. Kader questioned the patriotism of BNP leaders by using foreigners to conspire against the country.

The bridge minister also said that the Prime Minister himself has started activities regarding the price of goods. Soon the market will be under control.

Awami League general secretary ordered to hold peace and democracy rallies in all districts, upazilas and cities of the country on January 30 from the rally.

Meanwhile, apart from Obaidul Quader, other central leaders participated in the rally. Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif said in the rally that BNP tried to muddy the waters with the vote. The people, by participating in the elections, bid farewell to the party from politics.

At this time another joint general secretary Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that people have shown black flag to BNP by electing Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, leaders and activists from different wards of the metropolis came to the peace rally in groups from noon. Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League President Abu Ahmed Mannafi presided over the rally. This is the first program of Awami League after the 12th parliamentary elections.
