In the press conference, Gazi Mohammad Shahed said, ‘In the 12th National Parliament election, I have submitted nomination for the post of an independent candidate from Habiganj-1 Nabiganj-Bahubal Constituency. Later my nomination was validated and I was awarded the truck symbol. I also started my election campaign.’

Shahed said, ‘But due to the current physical illness, the death of my elder brother’s daughter, one of my brothers and a brave freedom fighter uncle, I am also mentally disturbed. As a result, it is physically and mentally not possible for me to vote, so I withdrew from the 12th National Assembly elections.’
