Inauguration of e-passport program at Bangladesh Embassy in Turkey

The e-passport program was inaugurated yesterday at the Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara. As a result, expatriate Bangladeshi citizens living in Turkey can apply for e-passport.

This information was given in a press release sent by Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara on Tuesday.

Ambassador of Bangladesh in Ankara presided over the event. Amanul Haque Ali Reza Siddiqui, Joint Secretary, Security Services Department, Ministry of Home Affairs was present as the chief guest. Director General of Prime Minister’s Office Mohammad Asaduzzaman and Additional Director General of Immigration and Passport Directorate Selina Banu were present as special guests on the occasion.

Besides, officials from Dhaka related to e-passport activities and technical team of e-passport project were present in the opening ceremony.

The e-passport program was inaugurated with the participation of Bangladeshi expatriates arriving with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. E-passport and automated border control management are another milestone in the ongoing development work of the present government. The Chief Guest and visiting officials briefed the Bangladeshis present about the progress of e-passport activities in Bangladesh and Bangladesh embassies abroad.

The president and ambassador of the opening ceremony highlighted various development activities of the current government. Amanul Haque paid deep respect to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said that today is a happy and significant day for Bangladeshis living in Turkey.

He said that the e-passport service program was launched in continuation of the implementation and development of the future outline of transformation from Digital Bangladesh to Smart Bangladesh formulated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As a result of Prime Minister’s commitment and tireless efforts to make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041 on the path indicated by the Father of the Nation, the availability of the latest technology and other world-class services is being ensured for Bangladeshis.

The ambassador urged the expatriates to work from their respective positions to build the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu’s dream under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

After the formal inauguration, the ambassador and guests handed over the e-passport enrollment slips to some of the applicants.
