Arbroath play in the second tier of Scottish football. The club’s coach, Jim McIntyre, was in great danger after playing yesterday after Christmas. Many of the original XI are out due to injuries. Raith Rovers went to play with only four men on the bench except for the field eleven.

Sarah McIntyre made three substitutions at the start of the second half. A fourth player had to be sent off when trailing 1-0. Aaron Steele was injured in the 58th minute. With no one else on the bench, the second goalkeeper, 32-year-old Alasdair Adams, was sent to the outfield.

Arbroath conceded a second goal within 3 minutes. After 15 minutes the amazing thing happened. Adams gets the ball well outside the Rovers d-box. He could pass to the next teammate. But he turned his body and took a shot like a bullet.

Rovers Rovers jumped but he couldn’t stop the ball from going into the net. Leighton McIntosh equalized for Arbroath from the penalty spot in the 81st minute.

Interestingly, Adams has been seen scoring such amazing goals before. In 2020, he scored a free kick from 55 yards from his own half. McIntyre can now consider dropping him as a replacement if he wants to.
