At the beginning of winter, the number of children suffering from cold increased in Tangail. Every day a large number of patients are admitted to the hospitals. It has more than double the capacity of Tangail General Hospital. Tangail 250-bed general hospital supervisor Dr. Khandaker Sadekur Rahman said that many children are not getting beds as more than twice as many patients are admitted in the hospital. 98 patients are admitted against 43 seats.

Pediatricians say that taking extra care during this winter can keep children’s cold-related diseases under control.

The hospital supervisor also said that outbreaks of different types of viruses increase at this time every year. As a result, children suffer from various cold-related diseases. In addition, children shed their blankets at night, causing them to catch cold.

An average of more than 100 patients are admitted to Tangier General Hospital every day. And in the outpatient department, more than three hundred children are receiving treatment for various cold-related diseases. Dr. Khandaker Sadekur Rahman said that since there are more than twice the capacity of the hospital, two to three people have to be admitted in one bed. Even after that many children have to stay on the balcony floor due to lack of bed arrangement. The patients and their relatives have to suffer in extreme irony.
