Two freedom fighters were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail’s Mirzapur and Ghatail. These accidents happened on Thursday morning and afternoon.

Freedom fighter Sultan Uddin was killed in the morning by an unknown vehicle in Shubhulla area of ​​Mirzapur upazila on Dhaka-Tangail highway. On the other hand, the autorickshaw driver Atiq Hasan was killed in a collision between a bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Pakutia area of ​​Ghatail.

Brave Freedom Fighter Taj Uddin, commander of Fatepur Union Freedom Fighter Command, said, ‘Bear freedom fighter Sultan Uddin went out for a walk after praying Fajr. He was seriously injured when an unidentified vehicle hit him while walking. Later the locals rescued him and took him to Kumudini Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Molla Tutul, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirzapur’s Gogai Highway Police Station said, ‘After the legal process, the bodies of the two victims have been handed over to their families.’

Ghatail Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Billal Hossain said, ‘In the afternoon, a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw collided with a marginal transport bus in the Pakutia bus stand area of ​​the upazila. CNG driver Atiq Hasan died on the spot. His house is in Chaitra village of the upazila.
