In Madaripur’s Kalkini, two siblings were accused of being hacked to death due to previous enmity. Doctors have sent both of them to Dhaka Medical Center in critical condition.

This incident took place in Lakshmipur Union of Kalkini of Madaripur on Sunday evening. The injured are Miraj Sardar (40), son of deceased Jabbar Ali Sardar of Madhya Laxmipur village of Laxmipur Union and his elder sister Amiran Begum (55).

According to police and local sources, Miraj Sardar and his elder sister Amiran Begum were returning home after working on their land on Sunday evening. The opponent Shajahan Sardar and his men who were getting camels on the way suddenly attacked the siblings. At this time, two people were cut and injured. The assailants ran away when the people around them came forward.

Later, two injured persons were rescued and admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital. If the condition worsened, the siblings were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital for better treatment. The doctor said that the two have injury marks in different parts of their bodies.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalkini Police Station, Sarkar Abdullah Al Mamun, said that for a long time there was a dispute with Miraz Sardar over various issues including Shahjahan Sardar’s land. This attack happened because of this enmity.

Stating that no complaint has been received at the police station yet, this police officer said that if a complaint is received, necessary legal action will be taken later.
