Former captain of national cricket team Mashrafe Bin Mortuza, Member of Parliament of Narail-2 constituency, said that he will do whatever he wants to do on the field. After being elected as the whip of the national parliament, he said this after coming to Narail for the first time on Thursday.
Mashrafe Narail arrived at the circuit house at 10 o’clock in the morning. Meanwhile, the district administration and the district police welcomed him with flowers and gave the national salute. He then held a meeting with the administration officials at the circuit house auditorium. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ashfakul Haque Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Md. Mehdi Hasan and other administration officials were present.
Later, Mashrafe told reporters, ‘The Prime Minister has appointed me as a whip. I will try my best to fulfill the responsibility properly. I am grateful to the people of this township for electing me again.’
When asked whether he will be involved in the game or retire, the former captain of the national cricket team said, ‘Sport is my business. I will decide on this in my own way. It is not a matter of speaking in front of the media. I will do what I want.’
It is known that Mashrafe left Narail after the meeting. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka on Thursday after paying homage at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Gopalganj.
