GM Quader said that if any Jatiya Party candidate withdraws from the polling ground in the 12th National Assembly election, it is a failure of that candidate.
Today, Monday around 12 noon, he commented in response to a question of journalists during the campaign in the court district of Rangpur.
Quader said, party candidates do not last in all elections. Candidates can withdraw if they want. They are given that freedom.
BNP is calling this election a vote of division – on this, Quader said that there was no division in the election, it is propaganda. Awami League has withdrawn candidates in some constituencies.
However, the time has not yet come to say whether the Jatiya Party will be in the election or not, GM Quader said.
Jatiya Party nominees withdrew from two seats in Barisal and one seat in Barguna on Sunday. In between Barisal-5 (Sadar) and Barisal-2 (Banaripara-Ujirpur) the party’s candidate Iqbal Hossain Tapos withdrew his candidature. Apart from this, JPA candidate Khalilur Rahman also withdrew from Barguna-1 (Taltali-Amtali) seat.
