Barrister M Shahjahan Omar Bir Uttam, Member of Parliament for Jhalkathi-1 (Kathalia-Rajapur) Constituency said, ‘Since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accepted me as a brother, I elected from her party and won the election.’

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the winner’s reception at Jhalkathi Kathalia Upazila Parishad premises on Monday afternoon.

Shahjahan Omar said, I am the fourth brother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. His three brothers Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Russell were martyred on 15 August 1975. That is why the Prime Minister accepted me as the fourth brother and I got elected from his party and won the election.

He further said, ‘I want to keep Kathalia Rajapur good and do something good. I am not in any sharing. I know this area. I know and know everyone’.

Barrister M Shahjahan Omar paid tribute to Bangabandhu’s mural in front of the main building of the Upazila Parishad at 11 o’clock on Monday. Later attended the reception at 12 noon. At this time, people from different classes and professions welcomed him with flowers and wished him well.
