Munshiganj Sadar Upazila Puja Celebration Parishad President Nani Gopal Halder (52) has been held in human chain to demand justice for the surprise attack by miscreants. This hour-long human chain was held in front of the Munshiganj Press Club around 11:30 on Friday.
District level leaders including President Bir Muktijoddha Samar Kumar Ghosh, Vice President Abhijit Das Bobby, Organizing Secretary Vasudev Nag, Sadar Upazila General Secretary Khokon Poddar, Municipal Committee President Bhavatos Chaudhuri Nupur, General Secretary Suman Lal were present in the human chain.
Samar Kumar Ghosh, the President of District Puja Celebration Parishad in Manabbandhan, said that when the election comes, attacks on the minority community take place. Strict action will be taken if this attack is not prosecuted within the next 24 hours.
On December 5, President of Munshiganj Sadar Puja Celebration Parishad, Nani Gopal Haldar was going to Idrakpur residence in the city from Banglabazar. On the way, when they reached the area adjacent to Idrakpur School, a group of 5 to 6 people got down from the auto-rickshaw and attacked them. During this time, he got a bloody injury. During the beating, a motorcycle tried to run over him. He got injured while trying to stop the motorcycle with his hand. Soon after the incident, he was treated at Munshiganj General Hospital.
Nani Gopal Halder is the son of Manoranjan Howlader of Chengabuniya Kandi village of Banglabazar area. Currently living in Idrakpur area with family.
