Work on the Ram Temple, which was built by demolishing the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, is mostly complete. It will be inaugurated on Monday. The Supreme Court of India ordered the construction of a mosque in Dhanipur village after the verdict in the Ayodhya dispute case. However, the construction of this mosque has not yet started.
It is reported that Dhanipur village is located 22 km away from Ram temple. British news media BBC reported that while the ‘Ramajanma Bhoomi Theerthkshetra Foundation’ is busy constructing the Ram temple at the disputed site of the Babri Masjid and is about to complete the first phase of the temple, there is no sign of starting work on the land allocated for the construction of the mosque.
The construction of the mosque was undertaken by the ‘Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’ (IICF). The head of the organization, Haji Arafat Sheikh, told Reuters news agency that the construction of this mosque will begin in May of the holy month of Ramadan. It may take three to four years to build this mosque.
Some orthodox believe that the Babri Masjid was built at the birthplace of their god Rama. About 2,000 people lost their lives in the riots in 1992.
In the Ayodhya case in 2019, the Supreme Court of India ruled that the disputed site of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya can be given to a trust and a Ram temple can be built there. A mosque can be built.
In response to the question why the construction of the mosque is not being done, IICF President Zufar Ahmad Farooqui said, “We have not approached anyone. People are still not doing anything about it.”
IICF general secretary Athar Hussain said the construction work was delayed as the mosque had to be redesigned to add more traditional features like minarets. There are also plans to build a 500-bed hospital in the complex.
Haji Arfat Sheikh said that a website will be launched in the next few days to collect funds. The name of the mosque will be Muhammad Bin Abdullah Mosque. This is being done in the name of the Prophet.
This man, who was given the responsibility of building the mosque, said that our effort was to end enmity, hatred between people and convert it into love. All these fights will stop if we can teach ourselves good things.
