Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen said they would attack all ships heading to Israel. They said this in a statement yesterday Saturday.
After the start of the Gaza war, the Houthis, supporting Hamas, have been targeting Israel. The Iran-backed group also seized several ships belonging to Israel in the Red Sea and its Bab al-Mandab strait.
In a statement on Saturday, the spokesman of the Houthi forces said that all ships going to Israeli ports through the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea are prohibited. If Gaza doesn’t get the food and medicine it needs, all Red Sea ships bound for Israeli ports will become our targets. In this case the issue of nationality will not be considered.
The spokesperson of the Houthi forces also said that the threat of this attack will be effective after the statement was published.
