Six people were killed when gunmen attacked a party in the northeastern Mexican municipality of Kazem. Another 26 people were injured. The attack happened on Friday morning local time.

According to the Sonora state prosecutor’s office, according to preliminary investigations, the attack was carried out against the leader of a criminal group. There was an arrest warrant against the person for various crimes including femicide, murder.
Drug-related violence in Mexico has killed 420,000 people since 2006. On December 17, 11 people were killed in a large-scale party gun attack in the Mexican state of Guanjuato.
