Govt not a party in Yunus case: Foreign Minister

Nobel laureate Dr. Foreign Minister commented that the government is not a party in the case of Muhammad Yunus. Hasan Mahmud. He said this to reporters after a discussion with the non-resident ambassadors of 14 countries at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday morning.

They have given this proposal in a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the letter, 242 world personalities expressed concern that the sentence and trial of Yunus was farcical. The letter was published in the Washington Post on January 29.

Regarding this letter, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said, ‘It was printed in the form of an advertisement in the Washington Post, not in the form of news. Not as stated in the newspapers of our country. It is given in advertisement form.’

The foreign minister said, it is quite clear that it has been printed in the form of advertisement through a lobbyist firm. Such advertisements have been printed before.

Hashan Mahmud said, Dr. With respect and respect to Muhammad Yunus, I would like to say that the judicial process of Bangladesh is very transparent. Because the judicial process is transparent, many of the ruling party face trial and go to jail. Dr. The government is not a party to the case against Yunus. The workers who have been deprived have filed a case against him. The trial is being conducted in a very transparent process.

The foreign minister said that the non-resident ambassadors of 14 countries had come to Bangladesh to congratulate the new government.
