Google is testing the generative AI feature on Maps. This feature will help users find different places based on their needs and preferences. Currently only US specific local guide groups can use the feature. The feature will be rolled out to everyone later.
Google said in a blog post that through the generative AI-based feature, users will be given customized suggestions from Google’s database if they search by specifying their preferences and needs in their own language. Google will provide suggestions by analyzing photos, ratings and reviews from the database through AI. The tech giant claims that the new AI system is sufficient to meet the needs of users.
It is currently in beta stage. Collecting feedback from local guides about the feature. If the generative AI-based feature is introduced in Google Maps, it will serve as an effective tool for travelers.
