Two of the six people who were burned in a leakage explosion in a house in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj have died. A person named Jannati Akhter (18) died on Tuesday around 6:30 am while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Earlier, Jannati’s cousin Rahima Begum (35) died while undergoing treatment in the same incident on Monday night.

Others who were burnt in this incident are – Sukhi Akhtar (33), his daughter Sadia (10), his son Arif Howladar (21) and Ritu Akhtar (13), daughter of deceased Rahima of Baghpara area.
Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute’s resident doctor Dr. confirmed this. Tariqul Islam He said that Jannati Aktar died in the intensive care center of the institute early on Tuesday with 15 percent burns. In the same incident, his elder sister Rahima Begum died while undergoing treatment on Monday night.
Earlier on Wednesday (January 24) night before day, a tin shed house in Siddhirganj Bagpara area of Narayanganj caught fire when a mosquito coil was lit. Six people including a child of that family were burnt. Local people rescued them and brought them to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Currently, Ritu Akta and Sukhi Akta are undergoing treatment at the institute with 10 percent burns and 17 percent burns. Two others were discharged with first aid.
In charge of police camp of DMK Hospital. Bachchu Mia said, the body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
