Four-day-old baby stolen from hospital recovered

The four-day-old baby who was stolen from the neonatal ward of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital was rescued by the police from Parashuram in Feni. Two people have been arrested in this incident. Relatives of the stolen children demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in such heinous acts.

Arif Hossain said that the four-day-old daughter of Abu Mohammad Noman of Lohagara Upazila was admitted to the neonatal care center of Chittagong Medical College Hospital on December 17. Since then, the child was being treated there. Relatives of the patients of that ward were staying outside the ward as per the hospital rules around 8 o’clock on Tuesday morning. And during this time, a woman managed to escape with the newborn. The relatives informed the police after learning about the matter.

After receiving the information, the police of Panchlaish police station started an operation to rescue the child and arrest the accused. Later on the same day night two women were arrested along with the rescue of the stolen child from Parashuram area of ​​Feni.

The arrested are, Parashuram area of ​​Feni Md. Pintu’s wife Nasima Akhtar and his mother Kharu Akhtar.

Santosh Kumar Chakma, officer-in-charge of Panchlaish police station, said that Nachima, who was arrested in this incident, gave birth to twins a few days ago. One of them dies. Another child’s condition is also bad. That is why this four-day-old baby is believed to have stolen.

Meanwhile, the child’s relatives are very happy to get the child back. They demand exemplary punishment for those involved in such incidents. The rescued child has been kept in the intensive care unit.
