Festive polls prove BNP defeated in agitation: Kader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, ‘A large number of people are voting spontaneously in a festive atmosphere. This proves that BNP has been defeated in the movement.

Obaidul Quader cast his vote at Udayan Pre-Cadet Academy center in Bara Rajapur village of Basurhat municipality of Noakhali on Sunday morning. Then he said these things while talking to the journalists.

Quader said, ‘The boycott of their (BNP) votes today is proof that the voters have boycotted them.’

At that time, Quader’s younger brother Upazila Awami League President and Mayor of Basurhat Municipality Abdul Quader Mirza along with leaders and workers of Upazila Awami League and allied organizations were present in large number of voters.

Now Obaidul Quader is fighting from Noakhali-5 seat.

Voting for the 12th National Assembly election has started from 8 am today. This polling will continue till 4 pm. 28 out of 44 EC registered parties are participating in this election. Other like-minded parties including BNP are not participating.
