The ‘Cinema Convocation’ organized by the West Bengal Film Journalists Association was held in Kolkata. Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin won the best promising actress award. He made his debut in Tollywood last year with Atanu Ghosh’s Ro Ek Prithivi.
Farin thanked the organizers on Facebook even though he did not attend the event on Sunday (January 14). And filmmaker Atanu Ghosh accepted the award for him.
“Thank you West Bengal Film Journalists Association for honoring me as the most promising actress of 2023 for my first film Another World,” Fareen wrote on social media. I really wanted to be there, but Atanu Da accepted the award for me, there is no greater joy. Thank you Atanu Da for trusting me. Thanks to Iskay Movies for casting me in the film. I am grateful for this honor.’
Incidentally, Jaya Ahsan was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Ardhangini’ at this event. But he did not get the award, Mamata Shankar was awarded in this category. The actress received this award for the film ‘Palan’. However, Jaya Ahsan won the best actress award for the film ‘Binisutoy’ in this event last year.
Meanwhile, Fareen’s film ‘Fatima’ will compete in the Eastern Vista Competition section of the upcoming Fajr Film Festival. It is directed by Dhruv Haasan.
