In Munshiganj, 4 people including children and women were burnt due to gas leakage in the kitchen. Burned people were rescued and sent to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The explosion took place at around 6:30 am on Saturday morning in a five-storey flat in a building at Thana Council Mor near Sadar Upazila of Idrakpur area of the city.
The injured in the incident are Rozina Begum of the family, Rizvi Ahmed Russell, his father Rajab Ali and three-year-old child Ryan. They lived in the same family and rented a flat.
Locals said that there was a sudden loud explosion while cooking in the early morning. The flat caught fire. Later, the fire service and the people of the neighborhood came quickly and brought the fire under control. The burnt victims were rescued and taken to the Munshiganj General Hospital, as the doctors sent them to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery.
The station officer of the fire service confirmed the truth of the incident. Abu Yusuf said, ‘4 people were burnt in the explosion due to gas leakage. Burned people were rescued and sent to hospital for better treatment. But investigation is going on as to what caused the explosion due to gas leakage.’
