Ex-Chairman ‘Death’ in Current Chairman’s Attack

In Nesharabad of Pirojpur, the former UP chairman was allegedly killed by the current UP chairman in a clash between two groups based on eastern disputes and dominance. Clash took place in Atghar Kuriana market of upazila on Tuesday morning.

Due to the tension in the Kuriana market, additional police have been deployed there.

It is known that the deceased person’s name is Shekhar Kumar Sikder (50). He was the former UP Chairman of Atghar Kuriana Union.

According to the local police, there is an extreme conflict between the former UP chairman Shekhar Sikder and the current UP chairman Mithun Halder in the Atghar Kuriana union. This morning sitting in the market there was tension between the two sides over a matter. At one point, both sides got involved in a conflict. Former UP Chairman Shekhar Kumar Sikder died.

Shankar Kumar Sikder, the younger brother of the deceased Shekhar Kumar Sikder, complained that the name of the present UP chairman Mithun Halder was not written on the invitation card of a sports program in a primary school in Kuriana. Enraged by this, he and his army sat in the Kuriana market and brutally beat up the brother. Brother died in their beating.’

Nesharabad hospital emergency department doctor. Shaheen Ahmed said that Shekhar Kumar Sikder died before being brought to the hospital. No cardiac problems were found in the deceased. However, his hand was slightly bruised.

When attempts were made to contact current UP Chairman Mithun Halder, accused in this regard, he did not receive calls.

On the other hand, Additional Superintendent of Police of Pirojpur Sheikh Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman said, ‘I heard that former UP Chairman Shekhar Kumar Sikder died in an attack by the opponent. Additional police have been deployed at the scene. Legal action is being taken in this regard’.
