EC’s decision to withdraw Brahmanbaria District Commissioner

After the decision to recall two Commissioners, five Superintendents of Police and three OCs of Barisal and Sylhet, the Election Commission has decided to recall the Deputy Commissioner of Brahmanbaria.

The letter states that the Election Commission has decided to withdraw this official to conduct the 12th National Assembly elections in a fair and impartial manner.

In this situation, instructions have been given in the letter to send a proposal to the Election Commission to appoint an experienced and qualified officer in his place.

Earlier, on December 7, the Election Commission (EC) allowed another 158 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) to be transferred. EC approved the transfer of 47 UNOCs in the first phase on December 4. The EC approved the transfer of a total of 205 UNOCs.

The Election Commission wrote a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration last Thursday asking for the transfer of UNOs who have been at work for one year. It is said that the Election Commission has decided to transfer all the UNOs in a phased manner for the smooth conduct of the upcoming National Assembly elections. For this purpose, in the first phase, the transfer proposal of those UNOs who have completed more than one year of service at their current place of work should be sent to the Commission by December 5.
