EC has withdrawn the DC of Habiganj

The Election Commission has ordered the withdrawal of Habiganj Deputy Commissioner Devi Chand in order to organize the 12th National Assembly elections in a fair and impartial manner. EC Deputy Secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman has sent instructions in this regard to the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

It has asked the Senior Secretary of the Public Security Department to withdraw the DC of Habiganj and appoint a suitable officer.

Apart from this, the Election Commission has directed the relevant authorities to withdraw the officers in charge of Chandpur’s Matlab and Madaripur’s Bhasar police stations and an inspector of Gazipur’s Kaliganj police station.

Earlier, on Sunday, the Election Commission recalled an Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and three police station officials.

The 12th National Assembly elections will be held on January 7. Now the campaigning of the candidates is going on. The election commission has already completed a lot of preparations for the election. Ballot papers were sent to 15 districts of the country on Monday. The EC wants to complete the printing of ballot papers by December 31.
