Dubai Consulate will honor remittance fighters

Bangladeshi expatriates and remittance fighters earn money by investing labor and talent in the diaspora and sending it legally to the country, the expatriate income of the government is increasing successively. They are playing a significant role in keeping the wheel of economic progress and development of the country moving.

Consul General BM Jamal Hossain has announced to give ‘Remittance Award’ to patriotic remittance fighters for the second time on behalf of Bangladesh Consulate Dubai and Northern Emirates.

This information was revealed in the notification signed by Shahnaz Parveen, first secretary (labour) of the consulate on January 17.

According to the notification, applications are invited for Remittance Award-2023 from Bangladeshi residents of Dubai and Northern Emirates. Award hopefuls, however, Bangladeshis who send remittances through valid channels from January 2023 to December 2023 will be considered for the award.

The notification also said that the consulate will award a total of 45 people in five categories. Among them, general worker-1 (monthly salary below 1200 dirhams) 10 people, general worker-2 (monthly salary above 1200 dirhams) 10 people, business men 10 and business women 5 people and various professional expatriates 10 people.

Award aspirants must apply by filling the published application form and conditions within the stipulated time.

Bangladesh Consulate General, Dubai by 15 February 2024 with one copy of recent passport size photograph along with the specified application form provided by the Consulate General; or [email protected] / [email protected] / [email protected] Applications can be made through e-mail address or Bangladesh Association, Fujairah or Sharjah, or Bangladesh Social and Cultural Centre, Ras Al-Khaimah.

Proof of valid remittance should be attached to the application. Such as receipts of remittances through banking channels, exchange houses or legal channels.

It should be noted that UAE expatriates have sent the highest remittances behind Saudi Arabia, the highest remittance provider of the country in the last financial year.
