The establishment of Grameen Bank and Nobel laureate Dr. The Appellate Division has ordered the High Court to dispose of the Rs 666 crore tax evasion case of Muhammad Yunus’ Gramin Kalyan within 3 months. A five-judge appellate bench led by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order on Monday.

Attorney General A. M. Amin Uddin and Assistant Attorney General Barrister Tahmina Poli were representing the state in the court. On the other hand, senior lawyers Fida M Kamal and Sardar Jinnat Ali were in favor of rural welfare.

Lawyers said, Nobel laureate economist Dr. The Appellate Division has directed the High Court to dispose of two writs filed by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in respect of over Rs 600 crore claimed by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in the second assessment of income tax for the last seven tax years from Muhammad Yunus Grameen Kalyan.

The allegation against Grameen Kalyan is that the company paid Grameen Telecom to buy Grameen Phone shares. According to the agreement, Grameen Kalyan gets a share of the dividend received by Grameen Telecom from the shares.

But the company has been refusing to pay tax on this dividend. Meanwhile, the chairman of Grameen Telecom has been allowed to go out of the country. Muhammad Yunus.

In this regard, Assistant Attorney General Barrister Tahmina Poli said, after the hearing on Monday afternoon, Labor Appeal Tribunal Judge MA Awal gave this order in the court. Meanwhile, the Appellate Division asked for a full hearing on the writ.
