Domestic worker’s death in Banashree: Clash between locals and police

There was a clash between local residents and the police over the death of a domestic worker in Banshree of the capital. At that time, three cars in the garage of the house were set on fire. Later, two fire service units brought the fire under control.

It was reported that a domestic worker died after falling from a building in D-Block of Banasree at around 7 am on Sunday. Her name is Asma Begum.

DC Hayatul Islam Khan of Motijheel police station said that around 7 am today, there was news of the death of a domestic worker who fell from a building in D-Block of Banshri. When the police reached the spot and tried to send the body to Dhaka Medical for post-mortem, the locals stopped them. At one point, they threw bricks at the police. Some policemen were injured.

Later, three cars in the garage of the building were also set on fire. Meanwhile, the police have detained some people for questioning in connection with the clash and the fire.
