Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has gained the trust of the people. He said, Bangladesh Police has become the army of Bangabandhu’s dream.
Today is the 49th anniversary of DMP, the largest unit of Bangladesh Police. On this occasion, the Home Minister started the anniversary ceremony by blowing balloons at Rajarbagh Police Lines on Thursday morning. Later, Sudhi joined the rally organized on the occasion of the foundation anniversary.
Prime Minister’s Civil and Industrial Affairs Adviser Salman F Rahman thanked the DMP at the beginning of the program.
The Home Minister said, ‘DMP has gained the trust of the people. This army now belongs to the people. The government is working to make the police a smart force.
In the speech of the special guest, Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said, ‘In the city of about two and a half million people, although crime control is difficult, the DMP is performing its duties professionally. The police station should be made a friend of the people.’
In the event, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that we want to make DMP such a force that even at 3 o’clock in the night, a woman goes out on the street and finds the police on her side. He also hopes to make Dhaka safe 24 hours a day.
Meanwhile, the mayors of the two city corporations in coordination with the DMP outlined plans to streamline the traffic system. The two city mayors of Dhaka, Atiqul Islam and Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapos, who were present at the event, said that they are working with the traffic police to solve traffic jams using AI technology. The city corporation will build a modern police box with 10 crore rupees.
