Mostafizur Rahman has finally got the team after all fears have been removed in the IPL. That’s ‘foreign’ Mustafiz for IPL, there are many more ‘foreign’ left-arm pacers like him. India’s left-arm pacers are no less than Mustafiz. After that, Mustafiz has not been able to do much in the last few days.

All in all, there was doubt whether Bangladesh’s sole representative Mustafiz got the team in the ongoing IPL auction in Dubai today. In the end, however, the skeptics were proved false. Mustafiz got a team, he was bought by Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team Chennai Super Kings.

Mostafiz’s base price was 2 crore rupees, Chennai got him at the base price. However, soon after getting Mostafiz, Chennai welcomed the Bangladeshi star in several posts on social media X (formerly Twitter). One of the posts, however, was about the unpleasant experience for Mustafiz on his ODI career debut with Dhoni.

Mustafiz made his ODI debut against India in June 2015 in Mirpur. He got 5 wickets in that match ‘Fizz!’ However, Dhoni pushed Mustafiz into the crease while running towards the end of the match, with a white eye that appeared to be deliberate. Later, however, the match referee fined both Dhoni and Mustafiz.

That bitterness has been washed away long ago. However, after Chennai bought Mustafiz today, Chennai made fun of the video of that shock eight years ago while welcoming the Bangladeshi star. The caption reads, ‘Coalition to Coalition!’ – That is, from the conflict, Dhoni and Mustafiz are now united!

However, Chennai made several posts to welcome Mustafiz. First Mustafiz was hailed as ‘Mozart of Madras’, then came the joke about the video of Dhoni’s shock. Then in a post, the caption also wrote in Bengali, ‘Welcome to Chennai, Mustafizur!’

After Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, it remains to be seen how much respect Mustafiz can command with the ball in his fifth IPL franchise.
