Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped out of the 2024 US presidential race. He later endorsed former President Donald Trump. British media BBC reported this information.
Two days later, the primary election is scheduled to be held in the US state of New Hampshire. At such a last moment, Ron DeSantis, who is known as a strong opponent of Trump, withdrew from the competition of the Republican Party. Now Trump’s only challenger is Nikki Haley, the former US ambassador to the United Nations.
Ron DeSantis said in a video post on social media X yesterday, ‘I am ready to do anything for something good. If I have to stop campaigning, stop giving interviews, I will.’
DeSantis added, ‘It’s become clear that most Republican voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. Because he is better than the current President Biden.’
On the other hand, Nikki Haley said, “I am the only candidate who has the ability to defeat Joe Biden.”
Earlier, another candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also expressed support for Donald Trump. He made this decision after losing badly in the caucuses in his home state of Iowa. In the meantime, Donald Trump has won the first primary or caucus in Iowa by a large margin. The former US president is unstoppably ahead in the race for the Republican Party’s nomination.
