In the 12th National Parliament election, the ruling party parliamentarian and candidate of Awami League in Jhenaidah-1 constituency was accused of violating the code of conduct. The Election Commission (EC) has decided to file six separate cases against Abdul Hai and eight people including his supporters.

It is mentioned in the directive of the EC that on December 16, Shailkupar Mirzapur Union’s Charyarbeel Bazar entered the political office of independent candidate Nazrul Islam and vandalized pictures and tore posters in this regard.
Candidate of Awami League. Other than Abdul Hai are Shailkupa Upazila Chairman Md. Abdul Hakim, Chairman of Hakimpur Union Parishad Iku Shikdar, President of Shailkupa Upazila Jubo League Shamim Hossain Molya, former chairman of Fulhari Union of the same upazila Zaminur Rahman Bipul, President of Pabna District Chhatra League. Mizanur Rahman, Awami League Joint General Secretary of Mandtosh Union of Bhangura Upazila Noor Islam Mintu, Selimuzzaman Litu of Faridpur-1 Constituency.
Meanwhile, the commission has called the independent candidate of Laxmipur-1 Constituency Mohammad Habibur Rahman Paban to the election building for violating the code of conduct. Although the hearing was held on Monday, the commission did not give any decision in this regard. EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that the decision will be announced on Tuesday.
