11 years ago in Mirpur of the capital, the husband slaughtered his wife in the murder case. The court sentenced Manik Miah to death. The judge of Dhaka Special Judge Court-2 today Wednesday. Akhtaruzzaman gave this verdict.
In addition to the death penalty, Amami was fined five thousand rupees. The court has issued an arrest warrant against him as he is absconding. Ataur Rahman, the assistant public prosecutor of the state’s lawyer, gave this information.
Ataur Rahman also said that since marriage, Manik often had arguments with Rita. Many times Manik used to torture Rita mentally and physically.
On January 12, 2013, Manik called Rita’s mother’s mobile phone and said that Rita did not return home for two days in anger. Since then Manik’s mobile is found switched off. Later, Rita’s mother came to Rita’s house in Dhaka from home on January 14. Seeing the door of the house locked, he came to know from the neighboring flat that Rita had quarreled with Manik and left the house with the bag. He then returned home.
Later, on January 17, the police informed Rita’s father that his daughter had died at her house in Dhaka. His body is in Dhaka Medical College Hospital mortuary.
In this incident, on January 17, Rita’s father filed a case in Mirpur police station as a plaintiff. The investigating officer of the case, SI Mohammad Salim of Mirpur police station, submitted the charge sheet against the accused in the court on April 5 of that year. On April 20, the court framed charges against Rita’s husband. Today, 24th January, after 11 years, the judgment of this case was given.
