Dhirendra Debnath Shambhur, Awami League candidate for Barguna-1 constituency in the 12th National Assembly election, passed away on the occasion of Dhalua Union Ward No. 2 Awami League President Nurul Islam (65). This incident took place on Monday around 7:30 pm.
According to district Awami League sources, as soon as the procession started in front of the party office of the district Awami League, Nurul Islam suddenly fell ill while chanting “boat”. Later he was taken to Barguna General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The doctor said that he died of a heart attack.
District Awami League President Advocate Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu and District Awami League General Secretary Jahangir Kabir condoled the death of Nurul Islam.
Advocate Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, district Awami League president and boat marker candidate for Barguna-1 constituency, said, ‘Nurul Islam was a long-time comrade of Awami League, tested and dedicated person. District Awami League is saddened by his death. His void is irreplaceable.’
