Condemnation to the Joint Secretary for participating in the promotion of the boat

Joint Secretary AKMG Kibria Majumder has been given a show cause notice for taking part in the campaign of boat candidate Mujibul Haque in Comilla.

In view of the written complaint of independent candidate Mizanur Rahman, the Election Inquiry Committee gave this notice to AKMG Kibria Majumder on Wednesday (December 27).

In a letter signed by Chairman of the Election Inquiry Committee, Joint District and Sessions Judge Saifur Rahman, the joint secretary has been instructed to provide an explanation in writing by Monday (January 1) at 11 am either in person or through an appropriate representative.

According to the letter, despite being a joint secretary rank officer of the government, Kibria Majumdar was present as a guest in the election rally organized by Munsirhat Union Awami League on December 24 and Jagannathdighi Union Awami League on December 25. There he made a public speech asking for boat marker votes. Through his subordinate Abul Kashem, campaigning for a boat candidate and seeking votes for the boat brand. Video clips and some still images of which have been preserved by the search committee. On December 26, news about this was published in the media. These functions of the Joint Secretary are a violation of Section 14(1) and (2) of the Rules of Conduct of Political Parties and Candidates in Parliamentary Elections-2008. He was directed to provide an explanation as to why no recommendation will be made to the Election Commission for taking necessary legal action against him for violating the Election Code of Conduct.
