Hong Kong-based media outlet South China Morning Post reported that the executive officer of a company called Luyo asked female employees to wear light makeup in a WeChat group chat on November 30. There were five women in that group.
The executive named Luyo wrote in the chat, ‘Women wear light makeup from December to inspire our team. Our male colleagues will fund the ladies’ afternoon tea.’ After receiving no response from the Luo Group after a while, he sent the message again to convey its importance.
The company named Luo has come under fire after this incident spread on Chinese social media. Later in a statement, the company’s executive officer, Luo, said that he said the matter in jest.
