Clash between three villagers in Habiganj, 50 injured

In Lukra of Habiganj, there was a clash between three villagers over the collision between two easy bikes. At least 50 people were injured in the hour-long clash. Several of them have been admitted to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.

The clash took place at Dhal Point of Lukra Union in Habiganj on Sunday around 10:15 PM. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and calmed down the situation.

Locals and injured in the collision said that there was a collision between the easy bike of Bandar Ali of Bhatpara village of Lukra Union of Sadar Upazila and Jasim Miar of Dhal village. There was a quarrel between them. Because of this they attacked each other.

When this news spread in their village, the people of the two villages took sides and clashed with indigenous weapons. Later, the people of Bamkandi village also joined the clash on the side of Bhatpara village. The clash lasted for an hour. At least 50 people were injured.

Confirming the clash, Habiganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ajay Chandra Dev said, efforts are on to find out what the clash was about. Police remained at the scene till 12:30 am.

The OC said the situation is calm at present. However, no rubber bullets or tear gas were fired.
