Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has reached Bangabhaban to meet President Mohammad Sahabuddin regarding the army’s duty in the 12th National Assembly elections.
CEC reached Bangabhaban around 11 am today Sunday.
This time, the Commission wants to keep the army personnel in the field for 13 days before and after the election. On December 11, a meeting was held with the chief election commissioner and the top officials of the armed forces department, the public security department of the home ministry and the top officials of the defense ministry.
In the last 11th parliamentary elections, the armed forces were deployed for 10 days before and after the polls to assist the civil administration.
Earlier, President Md. on November 9 to inform about the latest status of election preparations. Chief Election Commissioner and other commissioners met Sahabuddin.
