Businessman killed in Nachiman-CNG collision in Santhia

A weaver trader named Islam Pramanik (65) was killed in a head-on collision between Nachiman and CNG auto-rickshaw at Santhiya in Pabna. One named Abdus Samad Sardar (60) was injured in this incident. The accident took place at Panchdhopadah Mor in Dhopadah Union on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased is the son of deceased Zaheed Ali of Dohrjani village of Dhulauri union of Islam Pramanik upazila. The injured Samad Sardar is the son of Idu Sardar of Goeshbari village of Bhulbaria Union.

According to local and police station sources, a CNG autorickshaw leaving from Dhulauri and a Nachiman coming from the opposite direction collided at a place called Panchdhopadah intersection on the Santhia-Dhulawuri road today. This caused the CNG autorickshaw to twist. At that time, the passengers of the CNG autorickshaw, Islam Pramanik and Abdus Samad, were seriously injured. When the locals quickly admitted them to Santhia Upazila Health Complex, Islam Pramanan died while undergoing treatment. As the condition of injured Abdus Samad deteriorated, he was shifted to Pabna Sadar Hospital.

The deceased’s nephew Milan Hossain said, ‘His uncle used to buy woven products, lungis and towels. On the day of the incident, he was on his way to business.’

Santhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain confirmed the truth of the incident and said, “The body has been handed over to the relatives without receiving any complaint from the family.”
