Voting for the 12th National Assembly elections has started. This polling started from 8 am on Sunday and will continue till 4 pm. Buses, private vehicles will ply on polling day for easy access of voters to the centre. Apart from this, metro rail will also run regularly in the capital.
But motorcycles, trucks, pickup vans will not run.
According to the notification of the Election Commission, motorcycles will not operate until 12 midnight on Monday and taxi cabs, microbuses, pickup vans and trucks will not operate from 12 midnight on Saturday to 12 midnight on Sunday.
However, law enforcement, armed forces, administration, authorized observers, medical and emergency vehicles and newspaper vehicles will continue to operate. Election candidates, agents will be allowed to move by showing identity card.
Journalists, observers and motorcycles used for emergency purposes will be allowed to travel subject to the approval of the Returning Officer.
There are 42 thousand 24 centers in this election. There are 260 thousand 856 polling booths. More than 200,000 election officers will perform duties in the election, starting from the returning officer to the polling officer.
Among them are 66 returning officers, 590 assistant returning officers and more than 42 thousand presiding officers.
