Boiler explosion in Thakurgaon killed 3 including mother and daughter

Three people, including a mother and daughter, were killed in a rice mill boiler explosion in Thakurgaon. Besides, two others were injured. The incident took place at 9 am on Thursday in Pallividyut Daspara area of ​​Rahmanpur Union of Sadar Upazila.

The deceased are Deepti Rani (40) wife of Sagar of Daspara area and her daughter Pooja (8) and Umakant’s son Palak (9). The injured are Sagar and Nikhil. They were all standing in front of their house.

Locals said that on Thursday morning, local businessman Saidur Rahman’s rice mill workers raised the steam of the boiler to boil rice. When the workers switched off the boiler and went to other work, the boiler exploded due to excessive pressure and fell into the boiler room. At that time, if they fell on the lights outside the house, their bodies were dismembered. Since this incident, Saidur Rahman, the owner of the rice mill and the workers have not been found.

According to the locals, local businessman Saidur Rahman started the rice mill in Daspara area adjacent to Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway. Before the mill was opened, the locals blocked it.

Confirming the matter, Thakurgaon Superintendent of Police (SP) Uttam Kumar Pathak said, ‘Force has been sent to the spot. Necessary action will be taken subject to investigation.

Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said, ‘I visited the scene. The incident is very sad. Necessary action will be taken against those involved.’
