Police recovered the body of a middle-aged woman from a pond in Lakshmipur. The floating body of the woman was recovered from a pond of ward number 7 of Sadar Upazila’s Bangakhan Union on Sunday morning. The police said that his identity is not yet known.
According to the police and eyewitness sources, the locals informed the police after seeing the body of the woman floating in a pond in the area at night. Later in the morning, the police went to the spot and retrieved the body of the dead woman from the pond and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A red bag is found on the bank of the pond. However, the identity of the deceased woman was not found.

The OC also said that the deceased woman is initially believed to be mentally unstable and a beggar. Besides investigating and taking legal action, efforts are being made to identify the identity of the deceased woman.
