The police recovered the body of a man named Matiur Rahman (60) in Kalmakanda upazila of Netrakona. His body was recovered from a fallow land in Ramnathpur village on Tuesday afternoon.
Matiur Rahman Pogla was a two-time member of Ward No. 1 of UP. He is the son of Fajar Uddin of Moolgaon village of the same union.
Kalmakanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Lutful Haque confirmed this information.
Quoting the local and family members of the deceased, the OC said that a call was received on the mobile phone of Matiur Rahman on Tuesday morning. Later two men came and took him from the house on a motorcycle. In the morning, his son Babul Mia came out of the house to look for him.
He was informed that his father’s body was lying in a waste land in Ramnathpur area. Babul went there and saw his father’s body lying there. After receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot and brought it to the police station.
The OC said the body of the deceased will be sent to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. How he died can be confirmed after receiving the post-mortem report.
