Awami League’s Joint General Secretary and Information Minister commented that BNP has emerged as a new invader today. Hasan Mahmud.
BNP has emerged as a new aggressor today, just as the Pakistani invaders attacked and killed unarmed Bengalis. Taking Jamaat with them, today they are throwing petrol bombs on common people, taking hostages, setting cars on fire.
Awami League joint general secretary Hashan Mahmud said these things when he met the journalists after Awami League paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi number 32 in the capital on Saturday on the occasion of Great Victory Day.
The Information Minister said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman announced the independence of Bangladesh from this building on March 25. He led the freedom struggle of Bangladesh from this building. Bangabandhu’s dream was to build a developed and prosperous state. Bangabandhu was killed three and a half years after independence. As a result, Bangabandhu could not fulfill all his dreams. But today, under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, we have moved far towards fulfilling Bangabandhu’s dream.
He said, today Bangladesh has risen from a low-developed to a middle-income country, from a food deficit to a food surplus country. Bangladesh today is presented to the world as a role model of development. The country has become the world’s 35th economy in terms of GDP and 31st in terms of PPP.
Bangladesh would have progressed far if it was not for BNP-Jamaat’s destructive non-politicism, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said, ‘to take Bangladesh to the destination of its dreams, this non-politicism and those who do this non-politicization must be eliminated.’
