Blast at filling station in Mohakhali: One more burns to death

Another person named Dagdha Salahuddin (38) died in the blast at Mahakhali Royal Royal Filling Station in the capital. The death toll has increased to two.

He died at the intensive care unit (HDU) of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Sunday around 10:15 pm.

Saladin is the son of Noor Mohammad of Noorpur village of Phul Ghazi police station in Fenir. Currently Siddhirganj Kanchpur of Narayanganj lived with his family in North Senpara area.

Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Resident Doctor Tariqul Islam confirmed the death. He said that eight people were admitted to the burn institute from Mohakhali. Among them, one named Khair Mia died around 5:30 pm on Thursday. And Salahuddin died at HDU with 65 percent burns at around 10:30 pm on Sunday.

Salahuddin’s son Iman said, ‘My father used to repair gas cylinders. On the day of the incident, my father and some Mohakhali along with Rana had gone to repair the gas cylinder of the Royal Petrol Pump. They were burnt when there was an explosion during repairs. We learned from the doctors that his trachea was burnt. Tonight my father Sheikh Hasina passed away while undergoing treatment in the hospital. I am the only child of my father.’

Last Wednesday around 8:30 pm, the fire occurred due to the explosion of the Royal Filling Station opposite the Mohakhali Bus Terminal. Eight people were burnt.
